Creative Cake Art was founded by Sarah Theaker in 2007.
Sarah was born in the UK and trained in illustration.
Sarah’s journey into cake sculpting began while working at a children’s art centre in London, where seeing—and tasting—the party cakes sparked a brand-new passion.
Sarah soon met her Australian husband, and they relocated to Melbourne where she set up the business and started a family.

Over the past two decades, Sarah has had the privilege of creating hundreds of custom cakes for weddings, birthdays, corporate events, and TV productions. Known for her hyper-realistic illusion cakes, gravity-defying structures, hand-painted details, and intricate figurines, she loves nothing more than bringing personal, unique, and wonderfully quirky ideas to life.

While Sarah remains deeply grateful for her regular clients who return year after year, her work has also taken her to some incredible places. Career highlights include:

·        Screen & Stage: Crafting many custom structural designs for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, along with edible illusion props for MasterChef, The Aunty Donna Show, The Front Bar, and The Cold Ones.

·        Special Celebrations: Baking for a variety of wonderful VIP guests, including an unforgettable 80th birthday cake for music legend Molly Meldrum.

·        Iconic Replicas: Handcrafting detailed cake replicas of famous Melbourne landmarks, including The Princess Theatre, Lanson Place, Acme and Fed Square

Sarah’s work has been recognized with several industry honors, along with accolades from the Royal Melbourne Show, the Cake Bake & Sweets Show, and International Cake Show Australia, sha has been awarded back-to-back Supremo awards.
